Week Beginning 22nd June

This week we are finding out about

Transport Around the World

Usually at this time of year many families would be getting ready to travel on holiday.

This year, most of us will be staying at home. However, we can get a look at how people in other countries travel from these photos from around the world.

  • Have a look at the photos below.
  • Choose 4 different vehicles to draw on the worksheet.
  • Have a look at some of the video clips of Barnaby Bear. These include lots of different types of Transport from The UK and around the world.

Week beginning 15th June

This week we are learning all about different types of air transport and space travel.

  • Have a look at the photos of different types of air travel.
  • Watch the video clips.
  • Write (or cut and stick) the labels for the different air transport vehicles.
  • Label the parts of the helicopter and write some facts about it.

Week Beginning 8th June

This week we are going to find out more about what vehicles were like long ago.

We shall also look at different types of water transport.

  • Look at the pictures of old and new vehicles. Think about how each type of vehicle has changed.
  • Watch the video clip showing how some railway stations have changed. Long ago, Armagh had its own railway station. In what different ways can you travel to and from Armagh now?
  • Ask a granny or grandpa (or other older family member) to tell you about how transport was different when they were young. Draw, or write, what you find out on the sheet below.
  • Write (or stick) the name of each type of water transport under the matching picture.

Week Beginning 1st June

This week we are learning about how people used to travel before there were any cars.

  • Watch the programme in the link below to find out more.
  • Match the new items to the old ones in the activity sheet.

Week Beginning 25th May

We are starting our Transport topic with some sorting activities. Click on the links below to find them.

Also, there are also lots of ebooks about Transport in the 'Oxford Owl' website. Do have a look!  Many of these books have an audible option.

  • Think about the types of transport you may have at home. Do you have a bicycle, scooter or skateboard? Perhaps your mum or dad have a car or a motorbike?
  • Think about other types of transport. You may have been on an aeroplane to go on holiday or have travelled on a ferry.

Have fun finding out about Transport!
