    The answers and winner of the Strong News quiz were revealed in school this morning. Congratulations to Scott Megarity from P6H/G who got the most correct answers and won the prize of £20.

  • First Trust Winners

    Two pupils from he Armstrong won a First Trust colouring competition.  They went to the bank this morning to collect their prizes.  Well done girls!
     
  • Book Fair

    Thank you to everyone who supported our Scholastic Book Fair.  We raised £696 in free books for our school.

  • Fun Night!

  • S1 pupil is awarded Junior Rider of the Year.

    A pupil from S1 has been awarded young horse rider of the year by the Regional Chairman Lady Juliet Frazer.
     
    She was awarded this for willingness to participate in all tasks, listening to instructions, excellent seated position and naturally at ease with the horses during riding and horse care tasks.
     
    It is a fantastic achievement and we are all very proud of her at The Armstrong.
     
     
  • Fitness Freddy Visits School

    Yesterday Freddy visited our school and we all took part in fitness sessions.  We were sponsored to do this and all money raised will go to Action Cancer.  If you haven't already returned your sponsor form & money, there is still time.

  • The Orienteering Festival

    Today 43 pupils from The Armstrong P.S visited Palace Stables for the annual Orienteering Festival. Despite the difficult weather conditions, they all had a fantastic time and tried their best to find all of the control points as quickly as possible.
     
  • Khulula Choir Visit

    Today we had a visit from Khulula Choir. The choir are from Swaziland in Southern Africa. They sang to us and some of us had a chance to join in. We really enjoyed listening to the fantastic singing.

  • S1 achieve Riding for the Disabled Medals

    Today six children from Senior Learning Support achieved their Grade 2 in riding and horse care. They had to name the parts of the horse, parts of the saddle and had to ride using their reins, trot and run up their stirrups after dismounting safely. 

    Four children achieved Endeavour awards for riding and horse care. They were able to ride safely, use their reins and trot and could name some of the parts of the horse and the saddle. 

    Well done to everyone!
  • Canon McKegney retires from Governors.

    A presentation afternoon was held on Friday 27 March in The Armstrong Primary School to mark the retirement of Canon John McKegney as Chairman of the school's Board of Governors. Canon McKegney had served as Chairman for more than 20 years and throughout that time had shown tremendous commitment to the school. He was presented with his retirement gift from a P7 pupil and a P4 pupil.
