Small World Play
In 'Small World Play', children step into an imaginative world where they can be creative, spontaneous and dramatic.
The value of Small world Play
- promotes improvisation (which is great when we're at home!)
- encourages children's talking and listening
- enables children to create stories
- gives children control
- increases an awareness of feelings and needs of others
Transport Topic
Week Beginning 8th June
This week lots of car showrooms are re-opening!
Can you set up your own car show-room at home? Use your own toy vehicles and display them for your customers. Be ready to tell all the selling-points of your special cars.
- What special features do they have?
- How fast can they go?
- Are they petrol/diesel/electric/hybrid?
- What price are your cars?
- What safety features are included? (e.g. air bags, seat belts, child locks, parking sensors, hazzard warning lights).
Have fun selling cars!
See if you can design your own road scenes!
- Cut out the pictures and road sections found in the folders below.
- Use tape to stick the vehicle and character shapes onto e.g. Duplo or other small blocks.
- Spread out a large piece of paper and create your own roadways. (If you have an old roll of lining paper or left-over wallpaper, you could roll some out to draw on.)
- An opened-out large cardbox box would make a firm base to lay your design on.
