Follow the instructions below to find out how.

Week Beginning 04/05/20

Week Beginning 27/04/20

This week our art work is all about fruit.

1.

  • Look at Eric Carle's illustrations from his book: The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
  • To make the fruit, cut out brightly coloured paper from old magazines and catalogues. You can also use coloured card from cereal boxes and other recycled materials.
  • On a piece of paper draw a big plate to fill your page.
  • Stick the pieces of fruit onto the plate. Don't forget to add the stalks!

2.

Look at the paintings below by Paul Cezanne.

Cezanne was a very famous French artist. He loved to paint different types of fruit. This type of painting is called 'still life' because the objects in it can't move!

  • Look at the colours and shapes Cezanne used in his pictures.
  • Can you see the thin black lines round  each piece of fruit?
  • What colours can you see in the apples?
  • What do you think is Cezanne's favourite shape?

    Draw your own 'still life'.

Draw the fruit using a pencil. Go over the lines in crayon. Then use paints, chalks or other colouring materials to fill in the colours of the fruit.
