Viking day at the Navan Centre

We had an amazing day at the Navan Centre learning about the Vikings and their lives.

We completed three workshops. Workshop one with Paul focused on Viking travel, their lives and jobs.

We then went outside and were taken slaves by two Viking ‘Beserkers’. They showed us their weapons, taught us how to fight and then marched us to their home. One of our slaves was sacrificed to their Gods to ensure a safe voyage for them!

Thankfully we escaped their clutches and learnt Viking runes with Sylvia and also how to use quills like the Monks would have used to record the Viking raids. Did you know Armagh monastery was raided three times?
