Below you will find some guidance on extra Literacy work for P5.
1) There are suggestions for our Talking and Listening Tasks, with a guidance sheet to explain how these should work.
2) There is a set of notes for Creative Writing in March and April.
3) There is a set of notes about Persuasive Writing in April and May (3 weeks).
4) There is a link to Libraries NI and a list of suggested books that P5 children may wish to read. Remember that you can use the Accelerated Reading Programme to take quizzes on the books you have been reading!
Collins Big Cat
Collins Big Cat e-readers are available on-line. This is a scheme that we use at school. If you find it hard to read some of the more challenging novels on other websites or are struggling to access appropriate reading material, then you may find some of the higher book banded levels on this website good.
For free access to reading books, select the web link below. There is an audio option on the tool bar and an activity to complete at the end of each book. The books are grouped by colour band to help you find the right level - orange and turquoise are good if you need some easier reading books.
