Numeracy

Although we have now begun some division, keep going over your times tables to keep those skills sharp.

See the Supermovers link for fun and active way to learn your tables!

Mental maths should be completed daily using https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 level 2.  When going over the answers with your child get them to discuss with you the strategy they used in their head to calculate the answer and can they think of another strategy they could use and do they end up with the same answer.

We have set you a weekly challenge, why not give it a go ? Remember ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try try again!’ See below for details.

 Also don’t forget to check out daily numeracy lessons on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zmyxxyc/year-3-lessons/1

Number facts

The number facts in your folders would have taken you up to the end of last week. I hope that you have found dividing by 2 quite straightforward and you have been able to make the link between your times tables and division. So, for our final week of number facts, we would like you to also learn how to divide by 5….. use your knowledge of your 5X tables to help. See the attached sheet for which ones to learn each night… and remember to upload your Friday test to SeeSaw at the end of the week.

This weeks focus is Meaures - Weight and Capacity

We have attached a few links to help explain weight and capacity.

Some of the activities are practical and others can be completed in your numeracy classwork books.

Things to remember

Weight

1000g = 1 kilogram

500g= 1/2 a kilogram
