Numeracy

Continue to work at weekly number facts dated 1/6/20 in your home learning folders.

See the Supermovers link for fun and active way to learn your tables!

Mental maths should be completed daily using https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 level 2.  When going over the answers with your child get them to discuss with you the strategy they used in their head to calculate the answer and can they think of another strategy they could use and do they end up with the same answer.

We have set you a weekly challenge, why not give it a go ? Remember ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try try again!’ See below for details.

Also don’t forget to check out daily numeracy lessons on https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/zmyxxyc/year-3-lessons/1

Are you up for the challenge???

Each week we will set you a numeracy challenge to really get you thinking. Click on the PDF below, print it out if you can and give it a go.

Why not print off a few copies and challenge your parents/brothers/sisters to see who can solve the puzzle first?

The answers are there too so you can check how you got on at the end.

Good Luck!

Activities for this week

This week's focus will be on using and applying your understanding of Time Tables.  You will find below a number of activities for this. Please complete these in your maths class work book and remember to rule your page and write your date, title and WALT at the top.

In class we would not expect every child to complete every question, so please don’t feel pressured to complete all questions if you feel your child is struggling. Depending on the level your child is working at you may complete only the first few questions on each activity and if they require their numeracy facts book then that is fine.
