Morning on the Hill

On a foggy autumn Friday morning we left school for our Morning on the Hill trip.

Our first stop was The Music room to meet Carol and Lee and hear all about our morning.  We were then divided into two groups.

Mrs Hamilton was only able to take photos of her group, but the pictures will let you see all we did!

We went to The Robinson Library where Carol showed us old books, gems and wax stamps.  We all wore white gloves to handle everything very carefully.  We were very glad some of the enormous books weren't our reading books!

We also visited St Patrick’s Cathedral.  Lee told us some of the history of the old cathedral, explained to us how Bible stories were taught to people who could not read and showed us around the choir stalls.  We even saw a 3000 year old statue.

We were also able to go into the crypt of the cathedral.

All these places will be open on Georgian Day!

Thank you so much to Carol and Lee for a great morning.  We all enjoyed it and were able to make fabulous posters about our visit 👏
