Morning on the Hill

On a lovely autumn Friday morning we left school for our Morning on the Hill trip.

Our first stop was No5 Vicar’s Hill.  Stephen told us the history of Armagh and we looked at different cases with items from the early days of Armagh.

Then we went to The Robinson Library where Carol and Ella showed us old books, gems and old maps of Armagh.  We all wore white gloves to handle everything very carefully.

Our final stop was St Patrick’s Cathedral.  Lee told us some of the history of the old cathedral and then set us a challenge to find a 3000 year old statue!

We also saw where one of our boys sits in the choir!

Our final visit was into the crypt of the cathedral.

All these places will be open on Georgian Day!

Thank you so much to Stephen, Carol, Ella and Lee for a great morning.  We all enjoyed it and were able to make fabulous posters about our visit 👏
