Monday 27th April - Friday 1st May

Hi P6,

Hopefully everyone enjoyed last week. What fantastic weather we had! We hope everyone got the opportunity to have lots of fun outside and enjoy the sunshine, as well as working hard at their school work of course!

Again a list of important things below we would like to draw your attention to this week.

1) Literacy and Numeracy work is attached as word documents above; for viewing, downloading or printing.

2) Transfer: Parent(s): Important information about signing up for the test has been added to our 'Transfer Guidance' section. Please read this.

P6: Keep sticking to the test/extra work schedule and keep going over your mistakes!

3) Routine: It is really important we all keep a routine. This means setting an alarm to get up at a certain time. Starting school work at a certain time. Going to bed at a certain time. If you don't have one already it is important to create one with an adult at home.

4) Spellings: Next week of spellings in your Phonics Book. Make sure you do a Friday Recap at the end of the week.

5) WAU: You should have started your Japan projects last week. Hopefully you have lots of good ideas. We suggest you try to aim to complete 2 pages/slides per week. Remember detail is important and make sure facts are in your own words! Do not copy and paste.

6) Keep active. Exercise is really important. Lots of ideas in the additional resources tab if you are struggling to think of some.

7) Reading. Keep at it and most importantly enjoy it. In P6 as a year group we completed over 50 tests last week which is excellent, however this week I would love us to get  more! Lets all aim for at least one each.

Each week we will be celebrating millionaire readers. We have at least 10 who are maybe only one book away from this fantastic milestone.

This week we want to give a MASSIVE well done to Lucy E who has now read over 4 million words!!!!! Which may be an Armstrong Primary School record.

8) 2.6 challenge

If you have a bit of spare time this week why not try and complete your own 2.6 challenge? You can share your achievements with us by email / twitter. Your teachers might even share their own 2.6 challenges with you!

You should never be bored. There's lots of work to do, books to read, new skills to master and things to do around the house to help.

Hopefully all of the above is clear.

Keeping working hard, behaving at home and staying safe!
