Monday 11th May - Friday 15th May

Hi P6,

Well done on completing another week of remote learning. Hopefully you've been very busy not only at school work but also at lots of other fun activities that you're interested in. Maybe you have learnt a new skill or perhaps found out more information about something you're interested in.

1) We have thought it would be nice to make an album on our P6 page of things we are all getting up to at home. If possible we would like everyone to send in a picture of them doing an activity for our website page. This may be of you doing some school work/project or it could be any random activity/task you have been getting up to.

Email the picture to either:

info@armstrong.armagh.ni.sch.uk

or

ddickson463@c2ken.net

*In the Email subject line make sure you write 'P6'

*Mr Dickson would also like to put some of these onto twitter. If you would not like to appear on twitter and just want to appear on the year group page simply write, 'picture for year group page only'

2) Shannaghmore: As expected we received our official cancellation e-mail from Shannaghmore. Unfortunately this decision was beyond our and their control. Full refunds will be issued in due course. Apologies as we know you were all looking forward to our Outdoor Pursuits trip.

3) Complete the daily Literacy and Numeracy activities as normal.

4) Transfer: Keep sticking to the schedule. Make sure you are keeping track of all scores. Would be a good idea to print the schedule (if you haven't already) and write the score beside each test after. Make sure this is an 'honest' score: 1hr time limit, no help given and completed in a quiet space. As always remember the most important part of everything is going over your mistakes! We all make lots of them but going over them is when we learn most.

5) Reading: Second week in a row we have had no new millionaire readers but there are so many on the verge. Lots of tests completed this week which is excellent. With only 3 weeks of accelerated reader quizzes left make the most of this resource while we have it. Remember there are news article quizzes on here too.

4) Spellings: Next set in your Phonics book. Remember to do a Friday Recap.

5 ) W.A.U. Continue with your Japan Project. Remember to try and complete 2 pages/slides in your own words each week. You could be using a programme like Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides or Apple Keynote to do this.

*For those who like Minecraft why not try to recreate a famous Japanese monument and include a picture/screenshot of it in your project?

6) Keep doing lots of other activities as well. Maybe some sports, art, music, drama, ICT or baking.

Hopefully we will get lots of pictures to display next week.

Have fun, keep working hard, behave at home and stay safe! smiley
