Literacy

Reading - continue to read a chapter/few pages of your chosen book every day. Send your teacher a video on SeeSaw of you reading a page from your book.

Check out Collins Big Cat resources in the reading section.

Retell what has happened in your own words to someone in your house.

Become a character from your book and retell the story from that characters point of view.

Hotseating- you could take on the role of one of the characters in your book and get a member of your family to ask you some questions to find out about the character and what has happened to them in the story.

We have included a new reading resource in the reading tab below - for more information click on it, we hope you find it useful.

Spelling - continue to work on this weeks spellings in your home learning folders dated 1/6/20

Make sure you do your Friday recap at the end of the week.

Independent  Writing- We hope you are keeping your diaries up to date in your free writing books. When we eventually do go back to school we would love to read them and read about your experiences, thoughts and feelings during this time.

Please find below this weeks comprehension and grammar activities.  We know that sometimes it may be tempting to do these activities orally and that’s ok, but it is really important that most activities are completed in your literacy books to help with your fine motor skills, handwriting skills and work rate . Don’t forget to rule your page and write the date, title and WALT at the top of the page.
