Egyptian Art and Science

We carried out a science investigation to see how quickly a flame burned out when it was starved of oxygen. We tested three different sized glass jars and timed to see how quickly the flame went out in each one. We then talked about how Howard Carter lit a candle to peer into the tomb of Tutankhamun and how his candle may have quickly burned out due to little oxygen. We then designed and painted our own mummy coffins that you might find inside a tomb!
