Buckets of Fun challenge!

As part of our Water topic, we watched a short film called “My neighbour is thirsty” about a family in Africa where the mother had to walk 10 hours to get fresh drinking water.  We discussed what this would be like and how precious each drop of water would be.

We went outside and had to carry heavy buckets of water from the tap to the grass before our challenges actually began!  We then did some relays carrying the buckets in teams, being so careful not to waste any of our water.  We then looked to see who had saved most of their water.

Back in the classroom, our class asked such good questions about countries facing drought, villages with and without wells, organisations that help in these situations and the stresses families face, not only for themselves but for their livestock too.  The teacher was very impressed with the questions and discussions!  They were very mature and thoughtful.👏👏
