British Science Week Task

For British Science week we carried out an investigation called ‘Don’t tip the ship!’. We were split into groups and given a template to make a boat. Each boat had a different sized flat surface area. We had to use sellotape to join the boat together. The aim was to predict how much 'weight' each boat would hold. After our predictions we took turns to set each boat into the water and place cubes into it, one at a time, counting each one to see how many it would hold before sinking. We found out that the boat with the greater flat surface area would hold more cubes than one with a smaller surface area.
