Week 2- Check for update!!

Part 2----

Hi P7! We are extremely excited to announce – The show must go on!!!

Due to the fact we cannot be in school for an end of year show we have decided to do an alternative version….

We would like to you send us recordings of you singing along to/ performing the songs you have been learning from Matilda. We will then put all your recordings together to create our very own end of year show!

  • You will need two devices for this- one for you to hear the tracks and another for a parent to record you.
  • Headphones

Three ways to get involved: -

  • Sing along to – When I grow up
  • Sing along to – Revolting children
  • Dance along to – On my way

……or take part in all the above!

Remember this is taking the place of our end of year show and we would love as many of you to get involved in as much of it as possible!

Some tips for recording: -

  • If possible, record video in portrait orientation.
  • Wear headphones so that you can hear the track to sing along to, but we only hear your voice in the recording.
  • Try to record  the full song in one clip if possible (Chorus only is fine for Revolting Children if you're finding it too tricky)
  • If possible, please record each song in a separate video clip to make it easier for you to upload. i.e. one recording for When I grow up, another recording for Revolting children...
  • If you don’t want to sing on the track that’s absolutely fine- you could send us a short 5 – 15 sec video of you dancing along/ having fun to ‘On my way’. You don't need to wear headphones to dance along- it is fine for us to hear the track in this recording.
  • Try to record in the lowest resolution - On an Ipad/Iphone - this can be changed in - settings - camera- record video 720p HD at 30 fps. This will help you when uploading the clips.
  • Think about the character you are playing when you are recording- remember you are performing and use your facial expressions!
  • Please only use the tracks we have sent you via the links- everyone needs to be working from the same version- remember to ask permission  before accessing YouTube!
  • Costume- Bright and colourful clothing!
  • Have Fun!!!!

We will have a folder on our google classroom pages for you to upload your recordings next week. Try to have them submitted by Tuesday 26th May!

For your weekly challenge this week we would like you to learn two songs. As we are not in school to be rehearsing for an end of year show we thought we should still find a way to have some fun together....

'When I grow up' and 'Revolting Children' are songs from the musical Matilda.

We have included two links to a YouTube version we would like you to learn from - you don't need to know these off by heart but should be familiar enough with them to be able to sing along confidently....

Make sure to ask permission to visit YouTube to learn the songs.
