Schools of Sanctuary
The Armstrong Primary School is working towards achieving their Schools of Sanctuary Award. This initiative works towards making every child feel safe and accepted regardless of what they believe in, where they are from or what they look like. It hopes to celebrate cultural diversity and promote an inclusive mindset through the three principles- LEARN, ACT, SHARE.
During the 2024-2025 academic year we will be working on developing our intercultural skills, helping our school community understand what it may mean to be seeking sanctuary and provide pupils will learning opportunities to enhance their understanding of respect, tolerance, empathy and many other areas.
We will be encouraging all pupils to get involved in a wide variety of activities both within the classroom and outside of it to extend their knowledge and understanding in a fun and creative way!
