Numeracy

Continue to work at weekly number facts dated 27/4/20 in your home learning folders.

Mental maths should be completed daily using https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/daily10 level 2.  When going over the answers with your child get them to discuss with you the strategy they used in their head to calculate the answer and can they think of another strategy they could use and do they end up with the same answer.

4 Digit Challenge

5.   9.   1.   3.

Using these numbers complete the following challenges. You can only use each digit once. Your child should show their working out and discuss what they notice about their answer this will then help them in similar activities.

* make a tens and unit addition sum with the biggest possible answer

*make a tens and units addition sum with the smallest possible answer

* make a tens and units subtraction sum with the smallest possible answer

You could try this every few days using 4 different digits.
