Mrs Henderson came to visit our class last week (21st-24th May) and we had a blast with our topic work!
We loved building minibeasts with natural materials in the woodland. We showed Mrs Henderson how well we knew what lots of different bugs look like. We gave all the little details lots of thought.
Our butterflies hatched from their cocoons on Wednesday night. It was so exciting to meet them when we arrived in school on Thursday morning! We gave them some fruit and water. We were inspired to try to turn ourselves into butterflies! We chose chalk and we worked in teams of 4. We talked about how to create the symmetrical wings. We communicated well with our team mates and we got our photos taken just before the rain came!
Finally, we thought it kindest to release our butterflies before the long weekend! A few of us managed to hold the butterflies before they disappeared into the trees.
