Forest School
We took our current WAU topic - Living Things - to the forest floor today!
To master the five vertebrate groups, we were tasked with a "Wild Build."
Using the MR FAB mnemonic (Mammals, Reptiles, Fish, Amphibians, Birds), groups scavenged for textures that matched their assigned category—think mossy skin for amphibians and prickly pine needles for mammal fur - and had to create an animal, in either 2D or 3D, from their category.
We finished by completing our "Forest Gallery Walk" where groups had to play detective and guess the category based on the physical features built.
