A New Term - 20 April Update

Hello all P1's - we hope you and your family are all well and enjoyed the Easter break.  Mrs Brown, Miss Brown and Mrs Gilpin Brown have been busy over the holiday.  Mrs Brown has been painting her garden shed, Mrs Gilpin Brown baked scones for the first time!  and Miss Brown has been especially busy - she has learnt how to make carrot cake and flapjacks and has also painted and decorated her bedroom!

We miss you all and wish we were in school having fun.  However, we hope you are enjoying the lovely sunshine in your garden.

Parents

As before, please refer back to 'Hello from P1 teachers' to see what would be ideal daily activities for your child to complete.

At this stage we would expect children to have a few pages from their number booklet completed and a few pages from the cvc booklet. In addition, lots of practical activities as outlined in the summary sheet.  Remember Twinkl is an excellent source for printable worksheets, if you need any more material.  Also BBC Bitesize has launched new material, which is useful.  You can link the lessons from our summary sheet.

Writing - please don't worry at this stage about writing lots!  We will do an update in May all about writing.  At this stage it's important to be able to recognise the frequency words and lots of cvc building and blending.  If you want to complete some 'writing', the best thing to do is revise letter formation.  This is essential before any formal writing begins in our next May update.

We hope this is helpful,

Miss Brown, Mrs Brown & Mrs Gilpin Brown
