S1

Friday 26th June

Today we reach the end of this academic year and I would like to thank everyone who has worked so hard and uploaded work to seesaw. I have really enjoyed seeing and marking your work. Everyone put in a lot of effort and I want to commend you, the parents, for your dedication to remote learning. I really appreciate the time you have taken to complete work, revise and consolidate your child’s learning.
I look forward to August when we will welcome 5 new pupils to S1 and we can get back to most of the things we love to do. We also want to say a fond farewell to our P7 boys, Tiernan, Caleb and Seth. We wish them every happiness and success as they move on to high school. S1 just won’t be the same without you!

Have a lovely, safe summer everyone and look after yourselves!

Mrs Auld, Mrs Linton and I can’t wait to see S1 again in August 😃🌈💫

Head over to the P7 page for some farewell videos from staff and pupils, enjoy!😎

Farewell P7

Monday 22nd June

Well S1, we have now reached the last week of school for this term. Well done and thank you to all of you who have been working so hard and learning new skills.

Our focus for work this week is beach safety. You can also finish off any Literacy or Numeracy that you may not have had time to finish from previous weeks.

It would also be beneficial to keep going with a little mental maths and reading over the summer to keep your skills sharp.

Check back next week for our end of year farewells and P7 parents can view the farewell videos on the P7 page too😀

This week should have been Sports Day ☹️. Why don’t you use the link below or even have an egg and spoon race, a quoit on head race or a running race in your garden? Can you beat your parents!? Or your siblings?? Enjoy the good weather while it lasts ☀️☀️

Here’s Caleb for some Sport’s Day inspiration! On Your Marks, Get Set......

Monday 27th April

Below are a few activities to try this week.

Maths Activity Revision Booklet is for the top group (Mrs Auld's Group)

Maths Revision Booklet is for the middle group (Mrs Rollston's and Mrs Linton's groups)

Unjumble the sentences: pick and choose which worksheets suit your child's ability, you don't need to complete them all.

Have a great week, do what you can, stay safe and be assured that we are all thinking of you at this strange and difficult time!!

Monday 4th May

A big hello to everyone in S1!! May has arrived and the sun is meant to be back this week.
Please continue to do 1 Literacy and 1 Numeracy activity each day, read a little and play some educational games on your iPad or devices.

This week there is also a special Bank Holiday to celebrate VE Day. Your task is to find out some facts about VE Day. You could maybe make a PowerPoint using images and the key information.

Have fun and stay safe!!

Monday 11th May

Welcome back to another week of home learning. I know it can be tough, we are struggling a little with motivation here in the Rollston household too. Please don't get too stressed if work isn't all being done. We don't want a battle and our children's happiness and emotional well being is far more important at this difficult time.

My advice is to try and do a little each day and morning is probably the best time to tackle some school work.

This week for Literacy I'm uploading 2 links for a Literacy Unit that should last 2 weeks. One booklet is easier than the other, so have a look to see which would best suit your child's ability.

Our Numeracy focus will be capacity so get out the bottles to see how many mls or litres they hold...

capacity countdown on the Topmarks website is a good game to practice reading scales in mls and litres

If you would like to Tweet or email some photos to ddickson463@c2kni.net and let Mr Dickson know if you would like them included on Twitter / class page or both. We would love to see some of things you are doing to pass your time!!

Take care of each other

Mrs Rollston x
