ICT (Coding)

'Scratch' is a computer programme we have used in primary 6 to teach coding skills.

It is available for free online. You do not need to create an account. Using scratch you can animate your own characters and even learn the basics for creating your own computer games.

Website: https://scratch.mit.edu/

If you click on 'Ideas' at the top of the screen you have a lot of tutorials to follow to help you on your way to becoming a coding master.

Coding Apps:

You will be able to use the Scratch website above on some tablets. However it isn't as compatible due to the size.

You may want to look at the apps:

1) Hopscotch (A lot of the app is free and is similar to Scratch. Beware there are some paid parts to the site.)

2) A.L.E.X. (There is a free version and then a Pro version, which you have to pay for. A.L.E.X. is programme where you have to code a robot to reach a certain location).
