Chinese New Year - Making paper lanterns

P1MJ watched a video to learn all about how Chinese New Year is celebrated. We found out that red is a lucky colour. People hang decorations and lanterns to rid the year of the bad and welcome good luck. The children followed instructions to make their own lanterns. We also listened to the story of how the animals of the Zodiac got their place in the Chinese Calendar. This year is the Year of the Dragon.
