Tree planting

We were invited to be involved in creating a new native broadleaf woodland at Greenmount Farm near Richhill, but what we didn’t realise was that we would be creating a little bit of history at the same time.

Dean Irwin of Greenmount Farm, is planting over 10,000 trees.  The woodland will be open to the community to use and walk through in the future.  Therefore the trees we planted today will be there for generations to come.  We were the first school to help out with this project and together we planted over 100 trees.

From our photos you can see the ‘before’ & ‘after’ pictures and you can see we actually planted to trees with our own bare hands.  Then to finish off a lovely morning, we were given hot chocolate for all our hard work.
