Science: How strong is an egg shell?

We have been investigating the strength of egg shells as part of our Birds WAU topic. We designed, planned and carried out a fair test. Many of our eggs broke after 7kg of weight. To really test the strength of the eggs, we asked Mr Forbes to walk over them! Watch the video to see how he did! Finally, we each tried tried to use our own strength to break the egg shell - no one was able to do this- even Ivor!
