CRED (Community Relations, Equality and Diversity) is embedded as a whole school approach and seen as an extension of The Armstrong's school ethos.
As part of our CRED programme, we plan a varied and interesting selection of activities for pupils in conjunction with partner schools. Activities arranged serve to enhance work covered in several areas of the Northern Ireland Curriculum whilst contributing to cross community relations.
Children and staff have worked collaboratively with St. Dallan’s Primary School, Warrenpoint using the ICT ‘Collaborate’ software during 2014/15 while in 2013/14, they worked with Mullingar Educate Together National School, West Meath to develop a shared wiki before a face to face meeting.
Our S1 and P7 pupils annually take part in a joint schools project, Allset, with Lisanally Special School and Mt. St. Catherine's Primary School.
Through CRED we aim to:
*help our pupils develop self-respect and respect for others,
*promote equality and
*provide opportunities for building relationships with those of different backgrounds and traditions
